The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that his complaint was logged and then was advised to call the NHTSA hotline. The dealer was notified not notified of the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. ![]() The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact then stated that after approximately one hour, he was able to restart the vehicle however, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The contact stated that while idling at a stop light, he depressed the accelerator pedal and the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was repaired however, the contact stated that approximately 3 years later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel system needed to be replaced. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled without warning however, the contact was able to coast the vehicle off the roadway.
